The design process for a new range from Q Acoustics begins with a thorough review of the available technologies we have and how we can improve performance to take the art of loudspeaker design one step further. Our most recent technology breakthrough is the development of the remarkable Continuous Curved Cone (C3) mid/bass cone profile. Featuring a cone that exhibits the bass characteristics of a straight conic profile and the mid frequency control of a flared profile, the distinctive C3 shape features in all models in the new 3000c series. This document describes in technical detail the project history of the C3 profile, the subsequent development task required to incorporate this technology into mid/bass drivers and the other supporting technologies that are an essential part in providing a step-change in performance for this all new 3000c range
